2024 Fall Newsletter

Hi Reiki friends, it’s been a while since I have connected with you all, so an update is long past due!

If you haven’t heard my news already, there’s been some big changes for me as of late. This fall I returned to the University of Calgary full time to finish my BSW degree and since I was able to transfer 2 years of university credits from another degree to this program, I only have 20 months of classes until graduation. My classes are delivered both online and in person, here in Edmonton. Please note that I have not moved to Calgary and continue to practice from my same home office.

Ever since I wrote my book A New Normal, A Grieving Mother’s Journey from Loss to Healing, I have felt compelled and called to embark on a career of Grief Counselling. In keeping with my holistic approach, I intend to incorporate Reiki, meditation and Hypno-therapy, as an adjunct to conventional therapy. I’m excited for this new chapter in my career and know that this is part of my soul’s journey.

I believe that lightworkers are needed in every aspect of our society, frankly, now more than ever. For when we can incorporate our energy work into traditional workplaces, especially those societal systems, like hospitals, schools, justice, etc., we then contribute to the normalizing and destigmatizing of energy work. Our 5D reality is here, energy work shouldn’t be relegated to psychic fairs, and social media, it needs to be out in the light where we all live, breathe and work, so that the positive energy generated from our work can truly affect and bring change to our world.

While studying, I am continuing to offer Reiki/meditation sessions/training, but at a reduced availability. Please book your appointments with me well in advance and note that last-minute appointments are no longer available. I was blessed with a very busy summer and feel so grateful for those who continue to put their trust in my services and refer their friends and family to me.

Due to time restraints I’ve had to alter my beloved Karma project. My plan is to show my appreciation for your continued support by offering complimentary guided meditations and some other surprises on my web site. So, make sure you pop by the website on a regular basis to take advantage of all that will be offered there.

I wish you all a blessed and bountiful fall season and hope to see you soon either in person or online for a distance treatment. Namaste’

With love & light, always Loralee

Loralee J Scobie

For over 2 decades, Loralee Scobie has been professionally working with energy and helping women (and men) embrace the power of their own being.  Loralee started her career as a registered social worker but always knew through her own childhood experiences with spirit that we are all more powerful than we know.

As a Reiki Master/teacher Loralee offers training in Reiki (Japanese healing art) and in meditation.  Loralee is a firm believer to be an authentic teacher of Reiki one must work with Reiki daily (either on self or others), for the Reiki energy is the true teacher.  In her full-time practice Scobie offers in person and distance (via facetime or zoom) treatments on demand.

Loralee believes that meditation is the foundation to all spiritual practices and should be incorporated into ones’ daily routine.  She offers group training online and in person, where she teaches not only how to meditate, but how to create your own meditation practice.  Loralee also provides a unique service where she will compose/record a personal meditation just for you, relevant to what you are working on healing in your life.

As a certified hypnotherapist Loralee has helped many clients young and older on how to use hypnotherapy to overcome obstacles in this lifetime.  These sessions can be shared either in person or on zoom/facetime.

Loralee is the published author of her first book titled A New Normal-A Grieving Mother’s Journey from Loss to Healing. In this narrative Scobie shares what it took to move her through her grief and to go on to live a life of purpose, following the death of her daughter.  She also shares what is and isn’t helpful for grieving parents and how others can best support the bereaved.  Loralee can be booked as a guest speaker and welcomes the opportunity to read from her book and sign copies.
